Pursuant to the Georgia Open Records Act ( O.C.G.A. 51-18-70), the City of Doraville policy for processing public records requests will be applied equally to all. You will receive a response detailing the estimated cost of your request within three (3) business days of the initial request. This does not necessarily mean the document will be ready within three business days.
Pursuant to O.C.G.A 50-18-70 through 50-18-76, copies of records shall be charged $.10 per page. In addition, a reasonable charge may be collected for search, retrieval, and other direct administrative cost for complying with a request made under this Code section. The hourly charge shall not exceed the salary of the lowest paid full-time employee who, in the discretion of the Records Custodian, has the necessary skill and training to perform the request; provided, however that no charge shall be made for the first fifteen minutes.

Examples of information that must be redacted include, but are not limited to: Social Security Numbers, mother's maiden name, medical insurance information, appraisal information, and records from an ongoing criminal/regulatory investigation or prosecution.
